Save With These Energy Tips

• Correct air leaks around windows, doors and electrical outlets.
• Wrap your pipes, to guard against heat loss and prevent them from freezing.
• Remove air conditioning window units, or cover them well.
• Make sure your ceiling has at least six inches of good thermal insulation.
• Avoid using space heaters. They're expensive to operate, and can be dangerous, too.
• Have your fireplace chimney cleaned and inspected regularly, and burn only fully dried hardwoods for the most heat output.
• Replace any cracked glass in your windows.
• Wrap your water heater with an insulation jacket.
• Close fireplace damper and glass doors when fireplace is not in use.
• Don't let furniture and rugs block baseboard outlets.
• Install a programmable thermostat. By setting back your thermostat 10° – 15° for eight hours while you are at work, you can save 10% on your annual heating bills.
