What is DEF?

Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a mixture of 32.5% high-purity urea and 67.5% deionized water. It is non-toxic, non-flammable, and safe to handle when used properly.

DEF works with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions produced by diesel engines. The fluid is injected into the exhaust stream, where it helps convert harmful NOx gases into nitrogen and water vapor, significantly lowering emissions.
